I have a server on a network that has a nic that has been assigned 2
addresses xxx.yyy.zzz.24 and xxx.yyy.zzz.26, call them 24 and 26.

At work on the local lan I can ping both 24 and 26 and can access the server
with http: on both addresses.
From home I and my users can access address 26 but not address 24 neither
http: or ping can reach 24.
on the server I can ping addresses out side the lan . . . . say comcast.com
but I do not know which port is being used to perform the ping.

Where can I look on the server to find out why it is acting differently on
the Wan V the Lan.

Sounds like a intermediary device is allowing .26 through and blocking .24
(could be in either direction). A tracert should tell you how far it gets.
You may need to use a packet sniffer like Network Monitor or Ethereal to
really see what is happening.
