A Modem To Do What? Is This Posible?

Hello My Tech Inclined Friends,

I just got a new computer with no modem no RJ 11 port and am using win 8.1.

Is it possible to install a software modem and "link" it to either the RJ 45 or USB port?

I have a need to utilize a dial-up connection.

Any help would be much appreciated!

I have actually. I came crossed the USB external modems soon after I posted last.

I guess I kinda had my hopes up the there was a freeware modem out there I could download as I only use dial up on one occasion per year.
