I am not sure why but can anyone tell me how to either
prevent or delete. We have 3 legit domains that should
show up 1 root and 2 child, plus of course the workgroup
(microsoft standard) However when i go to the netowrk
neighborhood there are 10 there including the ones that
should be there. I see different domains show up from
time to time. Does anyone know how to delete them or
make sure people cannot add them. They are not real
domain controlers i know for sure. They are also not
listed in sites and services so not sure where to delete
them from.

Any help would be apreciated.

Just out of curiosity, are you on a LAN shared with any other companies?

I take it that you are referring to the list of domains you see at the "log
on to" menu. If that's the case, look at Domain and Trusts. They have to be
there in order for them to show up at the logon screen. If this is not what
you meant, rephrase. And, this time, try not to be angry anything.

In addition to Deji and Lanwench's posts....

The "domain" names could be either:
1. Other domains
2. Workgroup names

With workgroup names, if anyone installs a machine, a test machine for
instance, and they change the default workgroup name to whatever they feel
like it, it will show up as a "domain" in the neighborhood. Once it's joined
to the domain (NT, W2k, XP, W2k3), then their membership shows under the
domain it's joined. That's notorious with Win9x clients, since they can have
any name they want as a workgroup name since they don't have to be joined,
but they show up as "domain" names in the hood......
