A little OT: Where does FP2002 live?

Hi, all -

I'm curious as to where the FP2002 lives on my hard drive, cuz I can't
find the darn thing. Win XP Home, standard install. I don't see the
executable anywhere. And MS has even got the desktop icon rigged up
somehow so that it doesn't show the target path. What is this, CIA
software? :-)

Anyway, the reason I ask is because I downloaded a patch from the MS
site which has some updated FP help files, and the installer wants me to
tell it where to put the files (typical of Microsoft, hide the main
program and then have a patch ask where it is, but I digress...)

Anyone have a clue? It's all so, so... clanDEStine!

Thanks,
Craig

Thomas -

Well, of course I purchased and installed it, how else would I have a desktop
icon? :-)

In any case, thank you for your quick and most excellent answer. I was looking
for some variation of fp*.exe. Duh.

Thanks again.

Craig

Craig,

The reason I asked is because Office 2000 / XP, Windows ME, XP, 2000 install
a Microsoft FrontPage folder under Program files and many folks then think
they have FrontPage.

I did kind of skip over the fact of you mentioned having a desktop icon.

When I install any application, if given the option, I do not let it create
a desktop icon, otherwise I just delete them so that my desktop clean.

WOW, I am impressed. I have two monitors. One has 7 icons while the other
has 12 rows of 9 = over a hundred. We all work differently!

Windows can crash with to many icons on the desktop, but I think the memory
space has been increase under Windows XP.

Jill -

Thanks for your guidance. I know Thomas is a terrific source of knowledge, and
he's been a great help to me (and, obviously, to many others) in the few weeks
I've been in this newsgroup. For which he knows I am grateful.

However, in my own defense, I *did* originally write:

"I'm curious as to where the FP2002 lives on my hard drive, cuz I can't
find the darn thing. Win XP Home, standard install. I don't see the
executable anywhere. And MS has even got the desktop icon rigged up
somehow so that it doesn't show the target path."

Note that I specified I'd done a standard install and clearly had a desktop icon
for the program which was not giving me a hint of the program's location..

Regards,
Craig

Same issue as Windows installing the FP folder, we have no idea of it
purpose.

Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life. And Microsoft.
