We have a machine that is not on-line and our agency will not let it go on
line.

It has Version 1 of Movie Maker.

The help page, it appears, was written by someone who would probably be
better suited mowing lawns. I went to the Help/Topics and looked up Titles
Selecting Colors. Below is a copy of the page that I got

Cannot I edit the Title/Credits in Movie Maker? or is there some view that
I have to turn on

Have never used MovieMaker

Would like a little help.

01. We have no problems getting video/audio onto a computer. It is
primarily in MP3 format, but there are others like AVI, etc.

02. What we are interested in doing is editing the strips that we have with
voice comments and visual remarks.

03. The questions that we have are:

a. How do we add Titles and Credits and control their font, color,
and size and how they come in and go out..

b. How do we control the length of time that the Title/Credit is
displayed in the movie.

c. I notice that there are two lines in the storyboard that refer
to audio. Can you place a lower volume in the movie and still add voice
comments and have both play.

d. Can a movie be edited internally. What we mean is can I take a
single video strip and divided into four cuts with different audio and music
for each cut.

e. Can I export the finished product in MP3 or DVD format. I need
it in a format that can be played by a DVD player. I would prefer a default
format that is used by American DVDs.

f. Is there a Web Page that has instruction in a hand-hold style
that we can go to??????????????

Would appreciate any and all help. But PLEASE, no upgrade to MM2 comments.
We are on a machine that has XP Pro, SP1 and our agency will not upgrade for
us.

I'm betting you have a computer somewhere that
'can' go online....why not download Movie Maker
2 and install it...(it will run on Win XP SP1.)

Hard to find now but a little searching and here's
a link for you:

When you check for help in MM1, it opens the help file for MM2.... there is
no title feature for MM1.

I do appreciate the comeback.

On the "About Movie Maker" it states Movie Maker Version 2.0.33.3312.0. I
do not know if this means that it is version 2 or not.

I still have some questions as I cannot find the answer in any publication:

01. We have no problems getting video/audio onto a computer. It is
primarily in MP3 format, but there are others like AVI, etc. Can I import
them in and export them back out as MP3. Need to be able to play them on a
standard DVD player.

02. How do we control the length of time that the Title/Credit is displayed
in the movie.

03. I notice that there are two lines in the storyboard that refer to
audio. Can you place a lower volume in the movie and still add voice
comments and have both play.

04. Can a movie be edited internally. What we mean is can I take a single
video strip and divided into four cuts with different audio and music for
each cut.

05. Is there a Web Page that has instruction in a hand-hold style that we
can go to??????????????

yes, it's version 2, not v1, which is pretty close in features to the latest
v2.1....

01 - yes you can import them unless the AVI files are compressed with codecs
that Movie Maker doesn't work well with... no, you don't export as MP3...
just as DV-AVI or WMV video files, or WMA audio.

Movie Maker doesn't make playable discs... for those you need to take your
saved files to other disc-authoring and making software.

02 - pull the righht edge of the title clip to the right to make it's
duration longer... or to the left to shorten it.

03 - yes

04 - yes

05 - my website's Online > Tutorials and References page has links to online
entry-level training info.
