Hello, i read a lot of your messages and find them pretty accurate. I had the
same problem with the audio problems and i enabled UPnP in my router and now
everything work fine. My only concern is that i've noticed that it takes
longer or pauses when i'm signing in MSN. Also sometimes my UPnP disables by
it self and it doesnt want to let it be enabled again, even though i try it
through Windows. The only solution i've found was to go to my router and
disable the UPnP option and then enable it again... I know its not a problem
that it too crucial but it bugs me sometimes that i need to do it over and
over again, maybe like 2 a day. Do have a advice? Also. I know it disables
because i dont get internet even though my cable modem is active and when i
go to "My Network Connections" it says "Internet Gateway Disabled". This is
wer i try to do it but wont work, unless i actually go to my router.. Also is
it necessary too delete all the categories that include msmsgs or msnmsgr or
is it just enough to check them off? Thankz

Greetings Ariel,

Glad to hear you got it working. UPnP really shouldn't effect the login process (time-wise),
but it may be a factor.

Regardless, which router are you using? What you're experiencing may simply be a fault in
the router firmware and may have been corrected by the router manufacturer, so you may want
to check to see if a newer firmware version has been released at the manufacturer's website.

The "Internet Gateway Disabled" notification issue that you describe I've seen several times
before, you can ignore it as it won't really effect Messenger's functionality (or UPnP
really). As for removing the port forwardings, you should actually remove them, because
simply "unchecking" probably indicates that you're just disabling them (and these routers
actually have a finite number of port forwardings to work with).
