Recently my A drive when accessed from explorer or my
computer, for example, started giving me the following
error:
"A:\ is not accessible"
"Incorrect function"
Any ideas why this would suddenly arise? It seems
available during POST so I'm thinking its not hardware,
but you never know!!

Thanks in advance!

are you trying to access it with admin authority??
it could be a permissions issue.

It could very well have died. I've seen this several
times over the years.
First, blow it out with canned air and then try a
cleaning diskette with alcohol.
If this doesn't restore it, replace it. There are tons of
surplus floppy drives around. TEAC has always made the
best.

I had that problem with the a: floppy drive and my two optical drives. Same
message. Turned out to be NAV 2004. I had to uninstall NAV2004 to get those
drives to work. I found that all drives worked ok in dos mode, that's what
led me to think it was a software problem.
