I have a brand new computer that no one is able to help
me with, I even paid microsoft for phone support and
those techs keep telling me to go online, nothing is
wrong! bs, everything is wrong, NT is installed as a
server and it allows parts of XP and blocks drivers and
things, it set up my computer to run two systems and no
matter what I do, I cant change it or break into the root
to fix it myself, the few times I have been in there and
had control, I called microsoft phone support and they
claimed nothing is wrong. Then they insist that I go
online. the company I bought the HD and software from
claim they cant see anything. I believe this is just
passing the buck and it has to stop! I do not check my
email from this computer, It will not let any microsoft
items install unless it decides ok before. I have done
everything even run my cd only blocking out the hd from
starting - then it included my microsoft cd as protected
storage! it is running under a dosx shell, runs windows
nt4 sp4 and from the files I have read in my log files,
no one can get in unless they are running that. it allows
all users to see everything on my hd, I have to change
regedit permissions to even get out and chat in places
like this or I lose mouse control then it locks up. It
will not let windows xp full install replace key items
like the driver.cab and other important items. if I
destroy one of its items, it will use a close match from
my microsoft windows xp. Once I go online, it will go get
its own item and my better control is gone again. If I
manage to get too much control, it puts me into the
virtual memory and I am stuck there. This is like playing
chess with another person, I have paid for support, I
have done all I can. I see install records from 8/29/2002
while I bought all the parts for my computer in or around
12/30/2002 and as late as 5/30/2003.
Im a disabled american, I have limited income and do not
have the resources to get this thing taken out of here.
from what I can see - it can be done but microsoft techs
or someone else has to do it from the outside... log into
my computer... it erases the administrator password so
there is none to log in with. I try to change it and it
changes it right back again. I have changed the access to
machines in my registry again so it allows me more
control, but this control might end at any time. please
dont tell me to call Norton, they cant fix it. there was
a note in one of the logs that the hacker (referred to as
france in log files) stopped the virus and left the traps
in place or maybe took them out as well. I am going to
try to post one log file here, there are several but it
blocks me out as soon as I start looking at them. it is
running its own server and using regedit or something to
control them. all done through the registry keys from
what I can see.

I couldn't understand what you were trying to say.

NT is installed as a
server and it allows parts of XP and blocks drivers and
things, it set up my computer to run two systems and no
matter what I do, I cant change it or break into the root
to fix it myself

So you have a dual boot system? NT Server and WinXP? What do you mean NT
Server "allows" "parts" of XP? Allows which parts of XP to do what? You
can't break into the root? What does this mean? You mean you can't get into
your BIOS? Or your C: drive? Root is probably not the word you want
here....what exactly do you mean?

It
will not let windows xp full install replace key items > like the
driver.cab and other important items

Huh? So you don't have a dual boot system yet? You're trying to install XP?
If I
manage to get too much control, it puts me into the
virtual memory and I am stuck there.

You're making less sense by the minute.

<snip ranting and raving>

You mentioned everything but a firewall. Do you have one? If not, why not? A
hardware firewall does a great job of keeping out any hack attempts. A
software firewall is almost as good. I'm guessing that you don't have either
kind - this leaves ports open, thus allowing hackers access to your
computer. Close them up - get a firewall

Or was this post a joke? Sure seems like it...

Seems that hacker has even hacked your message!

What was that movie with the taxi driver who had this uncontrollable urge to
buy a copy of Catcher in the Rye everywhere he went, and the government was
secretly tracking him this way? (I think Mel Gibson played the taxi
driver.)

That's what this post reminded me of when I read it.

If your computer starts to sponaneously display "If a body catch a body
running through the rye . . ." then its time to REALLY get worried!
