It's nice. Small and just one file.
Also check the about dialog, nice effect!
Too bad the Format menu doesn't work.

Check it out... you will be impressed.
BTW- of course, it's freeware.
Very impressive - if format worked.

Also to really make my day, if it would just do colour coded html; all the
ones that do are much too highly specified for this muppet

Self abuse is not the answer - contact the Samaritans.

And if you want a nice replacement for Wordpad, have a look at Jarte:

Neat. Unlike Notepad, I've never been unhappy with WordPad, but what
does Jarte do better, just out of curiousity. I'm always for more
bells and whistles, but would like to know what a Jarte user feels it
does better than WordPad. I like the idea of the tabbed interface.

Well, I use KeyNote for everything, but TextShield Fusion can play a song
while you work! Just wish it could play playlists...

Interesting. Thanks for the tips!

Both programs have nifty features but I must admit that KeyNote sounds
the more interesting of the two, on the whole.

Just an fyi, TextShielf is 1.55 megs and KeyNote is 1.7 megs in size.
I'll stick with WordPad for now due to the sizes of the above, but now
know there's an alternative if I ever need one - which is the key:
have yet to need more features than what WordPad gives me. So makes
no sense, at this point, to "upgrade" to something else.

Notepad yes. The original Notepad is so limited, every single
replacement has proved valuable (my current replacement is Metapad).

p.s., found a link for KeyNote. Here's the screenshots page. Mighty
interesting little program!!
