Any good idea?

Why you want to change it? You must have a good reason for not liking it.
If it is the user interface you're having a problem with all others will
bother you aswell.

You could try some:
McAfee http://download.mcafee.com/eval/evaluate2.asp 15 days trial fully
updated and functional.
Kaspersky http://www.kaspersky.com/download.html?chapter=804206&inquiry=1 30
days trial.
Bitdefender
http://www.johannrain-softwareentwicklung.business.t-online.de/e_bitdefender_sendmail.htm
30 days trial.
Sophos http://www.sophos.com/products/sav/eval/
AVG http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_dwnl_trial.php or free
http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_dwnl_free.php
Avast free for home use http://www.avast.com/i_idt_1016.html

Thank's a lot !!!

Why?

I used to use McAfee until it missed a virus that Norton caught. Wiped
out most of my system files. This was years ago, however. My PC uses
Norton 2003, my corporate laptop uses McAfee - all corporate users. I
have not had a virus in years with Norton. But then again, I have a
firewall and I don't open the "Open my now and I'll delete your HD"
virus as so many others do. :)

needs a lot of resources !!!
I install nod32.

Norton has missed two on my machine in the past month. The patch from
Microsoft seems to have limited their ability to do more than scare me half
to death. The last one hung around for 24 hours - then self-destructed.

I don't see any issues and I only have 256MB RAM. Although, I am
curious as to how much resources each of the "big guns" use. Anyone
have any data?

Interesting. Which ones? And how could you have possibly had 2 loaded
on your computer in the last month?

Big guns?

The "issue" is : when i burn a cd-r ,i notice that NAV scans the data that
are going to be burned on the cd on the fly while burning. So the free memory
from 270 MB falls until 1 MB.Then win2k- i don't know how- restore the
memory again. This happens 1-2 times while burning a cd-r and the system
almost hangs and the hard disk led is always on.
This is only one of the issues...

I apologise for my poor English but is really a big trouble knowing-speaking
5 lang. all together.

PS: How is your Italian?

Multo benne. Vado in vancanca con automachina.

When ever burning a cd it is better to turn of all background programs.
In Win 98 goto start/run Type "msconfig" and disable all.

I think you are going to get that with most. I disable my AV software
(autoprotect only) when burning. Then restart it when done. If I
forget, it's back when I reboot.

now i installed NOD32.
Works good.
