A few questions in general

Ok guys I will try to make this easier on people's eyes thes time.

First question has anyone who's used Windows Vista RC1 experienced this
where Internet Explorer will crash the instant you use it when you click a
link in an email or you clock one of the topics in the Welcome center i,e,
sign up for Windows LIve One Care?

When I reported the error to Microsoft the little ballon titled "Solving
computer problems" came up saying that the error will be fixed in Windows
Vista RTM to get RTM refer to the materials that came with your beta kit or
click the link. What does RTM stand for?

If anyone has used Beta software before what hapens in regards to expiration
If I lose track of how close to the expiration date I am will I just
suddently hit that date and the sofware will refuse to load?

Any Help is appreciated.

RTM means Release to Manufacturing. It's the public for sale release
version, also expressed as gone Gold.
 
To answer your second question:

If you click on the Start Orb and type "winver" you will get a description
of the windows version and the expiration date. Since this is Beta, and the
"timebomb" was fully disclosed to you both in the EULA and during the
registration process, it most likely will cease to function at that time,
and you will have to either purchase Vista or put a different operating
system on your test computer.
 
Another important date is the Date of General Public Availability. It will
be a couple of months after rtm and will mark the beginning of the Active
Support Lifecycle.
 
Once difference that happens concerning timebombing is that before timebomb
it is possible to do an upgrade in place to install the retail edition (no
loss of files) but once the software timebombs it is only possible to do a
custom installation with accompanying loss of data.

Yes. I have the same problem. I have installed RC1 on a ntfs partition
created by win2000 and thought that might be why. How did you install?
Clean/upgrade or other? :)
