Hello,
I'm sure this is a dumb question but here goes.
We have a directory that contains mostly Word documents
and it is shared to the average user with the following
permissions:
Share: Read
NTFS: Read; Read & Execute
Users often open the documents in MSWord and leave them
open for hours. This creates a problem when the documents
control person has to update the file because they get a
Sharing Violation. Now they have to call me to find out
who has the file open so we can contact the user and ask
them to close the file.
Is there any way I can share these files so that a user
can have it open in Word and still let our documents
control person update the file?
