I have recently upgraded to XP from ME and on doing so I
encountered a couple of virus's etc.... having dealt with
them, I have now lost my A drive. It no longer shows on
the explorer page and if I try to re-add it by using the
add hardware feature I recieve a message stating "Windows
cannot load device driver for this hardware, the driver
may be corrupted or missing (Code 39)

Help, how can I fix this as I have tried to upgrade the
driver but can't find one... Oh and what is a code 39? is
this bad!!!!!

Can anyone help? cheers

I'm in exactly the same boat - including the virus which
crept in whilst I was upgrading (had to turn off F-Secure
to install the upgrade !!)......... Can someone help ??
Interestingly, if you do the troubleshoot thing, you CAN
reload the driver and the system works OK. But the
moment you reboot, the trouble comes back.
