A:\ drive - No ID address

I recently installed a new floppy drive, which up until today ran perfectly.
However, when I tried to write to a floppy disk today, I got the following
message:

A:\ is not accessible
No ID address mark was found on the floppy disk

I tried several other disks in this drive only to get the same message, yet
I know the disks are ok as I have tried them in my other pc which recognises
them without problems.

I also tried changing the m/b to drive lead in case this was faulty but
still the same, therefore I am wondering if the drive is faulty or if this
is maybe a software problem.

This problem started after I had just reinstalled Windows
KB823980-X86-ENU.exe, so not sure if this has something to do with the
problem.

My system comprises Asus P5A/AMD K6/3 450 with 192meg memory, Matrox G400,
SBLive, Adaptec 2940u scsi, IBM 25gb HD, Plextor CR-RW, Pioneer DVD and ZIP
250, both on scsi.

I am running Windows XP pro with SP1 and all updates except KB824141, which
I have not installed because it makes MS Photodraw cease to work and I use
that program a lot.

Any help would be appreciated

Further to previous post, have checked MS knowledge base which says about
full formatting of disks instead of quick formatting, but this still does
not solve problem. Have also tried opening disc that have information stored
that I know are good, but it cannot read these either.
So any help would be appreciated.
