Simon

I have recently upgraded to XP from ME and on doing so I
encountered a couple of virus's etc.... having dealt with
them, I have now lost my A drive. It no longer shows on
the explorer page and if I try to re-add it by using the
add hardware feature I recieve a message stating "Windows
cannot load device driver for this hardware, the driver
may be corrupted or missing (Code 39)

Help, how can I fix this as I have tried to upgrade the
driver but can't find one... Oh and what is a code 39? is
this bad!!!!!

Can anyone help? cheers

enable the drive in BIOS first

if it is enabled in bios and still u dont find it then
check the cable connections, try making the drive as first
boot device and check if it access or asks for a diskette
to boot from, if it asks for a diskette, then there is not
problem with it, there must be some misconfigurations or
settings problem with the drive,
