Hi,

A quick couple of questions that I hope someone can help me with ...

Firstly, I'm running msn messenger 6.2.0133 under windows 98se, but
soon to be upgrading to xp pro (hopefully) ...

My questions are this:

1. I have an old AIPTEK Spypen camera which I currently use s a rather
crappy webcam. The software version is 2.11. I cannot, however, seem
to be able to get this to work with msn, although it works "fine"
(sic) with Yahoo 6.x Does anybody know whether this can be made to
work with msn, and if so how?

2. msn have, in their infinite wisdom, closed down all of their UK
chatrooms ... is there any way of getting access to any of the
american or other international ones?

Thanks in advance,
-Graeme.

Hi,

Just a quick update ... I had a poke around on the AIPTEK site, and
downloaded some new drivers - v2.25 At first, these also didn't help
me use my webcam in MSN Messenger, but after a bit of playing around,
I found a box that said something about mirroring my image ... when I
unchecked that, all works fine ... albeit the same old crappy picture!

So, I am now just left with the dilemma of net being able to gain
access to any chatrooms ...

Anyone able to help with this?

TIA,
-Graeme.

Greetings Graeme,

It sounds like the driver for that specific camera must not support something required for
mirroring.

Regardless, the chat rooms are available in North America for a subscription fee only --
there are no longer *any* free chatrooms at http://chat.msn.com.
