Just encountered these via CFS's newsletter:
Magic Transfer
"Magic Transfer is the easiest solution for synchronizing the main settings
and information on several computers that you use constantly! Many people
use two or more PCs - on work, at home, on a trip or at friends' place! If
all of these computers, in some magic manner, were able to keep track of all
your recent changes and all the work done, - you would find in Favorites a
new bookmark created on work or would have all the emails created and sent
in the office at your disposal in your home computer. "
CFS Review:
"...Excellent for anyone with multiple computers (say, home and work) who
needs to keep them both the same, it can also be used as a backup tool.
It's main deficiency is that, apart from the pre-programmed files, you
cannot select additional, individual files to backup or synchronization. It
will only work with the complete contents of folders, maintaining an
up-to-date copy of those folders. Unless data is in its own special folder,
you could end up with entire programs being copied with Magic Transfer. In
most cases, even this isn't a big problem but we would have liked to have
been able to select individual files for processing, not just folders.
When you close the program it throws up two nag screens, but you can check a
box on each and never see that nag again.
Those issues aside, Magic Transfer is great. It looks good, works properly,
and makes both basic data backup, and file synchronization between
computers, very easyWorth a look!
Note: we have been advised that this program is not suitable for Windows 95,
98 or ME..."

Mini Explorer 1.1
"Mini Explorer is a fast and tiny alternative to Windows Explorer. Here are
some key features of this program:
a.. Can handle virtually unlimited number of files without sacrificing
speed
b.. Queue for copying/moving files: add files from different locations to
the queue, and copy/move them all to another folder
c.. Lightning-fast search facility that uses Snowbird technology
d.. Fast file copying and moving with error protection and error log; no
more boring Preparing to copy... messages
e.. Fast one/two-key shortcuts for most commands
f.. Text preview window "
CFS Review:
"...This is an interesting little file manager that provides an alternative
to the somewhat cumbersome Windows Explorer.
While it is a functional file manager, it lacks any attempt at eye candy and
this makes it an unattractive addition to your desktop. It appears to have
been designed without any consideration for form, and even the function
seems, at times, to be dyslexic.
However, it does include some neat little features, like a built-in text
viewer (unfortunately limited to about 68kB) and the fast search engine
which can look for text within files, as well as for files themselves.
The program includes a Queue function so you can gather files from all over
your computer together in one location, and then move or copy them to the
location where they are required. Unfortunately, while we could gather files
into the Queue box, we could not see how to get them from that box to their
final location...."
