The migrain bit I understand,but the " recorder facepalm" eludes me.The image shows the man with his palm up against his forehead not his face.Can some one enlighten me please..ta.

The act of slapping your forehead with the palm of your head in exasperation.

When something idiotic or stupid is said. Can be called by the person who made the stupid remark or whoever heard it. To face palm you can either call out "face palm" or just do it but either way you must firmly smack your forehead with your palm.
1.) Ally: OMG! Where's my phone?! I can't find it!!

Lea: ...it's RIGHT in front of you..

Ally: Face palm..

2.) Beth: I made a 69! I passed the test!!

Anne: A 77 is passing. face palm.

Beth: .......UGH

3.) Jane: That boy has great hair!

Jordan: That's a girl.
