Hi Evrybody,
I have a windows server 2003 active directory network with windows 2000
workstations(2 servers
20 workstations) all users are programmers, I'm looking for a good strategy
for backup do you know
any good source/document/website for finding information about that? a few
of my major questions are as fallow:
1. For user backup; Is it better to ask all users to make their backup on
server or somehow make automatic backup to make each computer backup?
2.What about using (one or two) external hard disk, instead of expensive
backup system?
3. How trustable is Windows 2003 backup software? Do I need another backup
program?
Thank you in advance - Sam

I would suggest creating a folder on your server for each user and give each
user full control of their folder. Train your users to save files needing
backup to this folder.
You will not have to worry about a user turning their computer off and not
getting backed up.
You only have to have backup software and a backup device for the server not
every workstation.
2.What about using (one or two) external hard disk, instead of expensive
backup system?

You will need software able to backup to disk. You should also take into
consideration off site storage of your backups.
3. How trustable is Windows 2003 backup software? Do I need another backup
program?

Can't answer that question I use Veritas.
