Hi All ,
Could someone advise me on the best 60 gb abs disk setup to allow
me to backup my entire hard disk on my desktop 55.84gb disk on a dell
dimension 2350 with 1gb of memory running msn windows xp sp2 to allow me to
restore to a new disk replacement if the hard disk were to crash on the
desktop.
Also do i need special software to do this.
I see that some abs do backups but am unsure if they allow total restore or
do I need to image the disk?

Thanks for all help in advance

Jessie

The best way is to Image the Hard drive to another hard drive.
This creates a bootable drive that can easily replace the original drive.
I use Acronis True Image for this purpose and it works nicely.
It also allows you to create incremental backups and install a "boot
manager" that can start before the OS loads and lets you "recover" the image
and load it back onto the original HD.

Thanks for your help sounds like the image is a lot better to use than the
backup software that comes with the abs system.

Thanks again
