99% is not enough!!!!

I have a movie saved on my computer but it is in 2 parts and I want to use
movie maker to merge them together however when I try to import the first
half of the movie it will not get past 99% when importing, I don't have this
problem with the second part of the movie and its never happened before.

Can anyone help me?

What format is the file for the part that doesn't import fully?

How large are the two parts?
Does part one play ok in windows media player?
Are they both the same file type?

the first part is about 700Mb and the second is abot 500Mb. Both are AVI
files and play fine on my computer.

Do you know what sort of avi file, as avi is a wrapper and can contain may
varieties of files. Use something like g-spot to analyse teh file or where
did the files come from, if off the net the most popular is divx which
causes problems.
