9700/pro on old k6?

According to ATI's specs, 9700 and 9600 are capable to run on k6 systems and
therefore on AGP v.1.0 (3.3V). I was wondering whether anyone has tried to
test that. For pure hobby purposes I'm going to buy one of the mentioned,
but I wouldn't like to burn my system.

....but you'd be better off spending your money on an all-round system
upgrade.

if it was my sys i would get the 9700pro that way when you do upgrade the
mother board, ram and cpu later on atleast you can still use the 9700pro and
have a midrange video card.
i have not ran a 9700 at agp 1x yet only 4x and 8x.
check the card makers site like if its a powercolor card check with them
first befor you buy it.
if i rember right some makers of the 9600 and 9700 didnt suport 1 x agp or 2
x only 4 and 8.

I think your testing this for someone is my only guess . I would interested
on the fps u gett in games .Can u post ur results.

Heh....probably a lot better than the people who go out and buy a P4 3.4 Ghz
with Intel graphics
