Need help. Don't know what my problem is.
First, system specs:
AMD XP 2500+ (running at 133fsb due to my ram until I get some pc3200)
Soyo SY-KT400 Dragon ultra platinum (latest bios)
ATI 9700 pro retail (catalyst 3.8)
512 pc2100
Maxtor 120 GB 7200rpm
Windows XP pro
all drivers are the latest
My problem is when I play games. I notice it in Unreal Tournament
2003 and also 3dmark2003. After a random time, my computer either
restarts, locks up, or gives me a screen filled with little boxes all
over it, like a corrupted display. Sometimes, it does go back to the
desktop with this error message:
VPU Recover has reset your graphics accelerator as it was no longer
responding to the graphics driver commands.
If the computer restarts, when windows comes back up, it is in 800x600
res with 16bit color. I use 1024x768 and 32bit color. I have tried
messing around with voltages, timings, settings to no avail. When I
go to administrative tool, event viewer, system
I see the following error:
The driver ati2dvag for the display device \Device\Video0 got stuck
in an infinite loop…
I appreciate any help.
