Enjoying the new card with Flight sim 2004 however every so often when
surfing the net and loading image files the screen fonts become corrupt and
the computer reboots. This only started to happen after installing the 9600
a few days ago.

Any suggestions what may be the cause and how to fix. Did ATI, NG & google
search and did not find any answer.
Running Win XP SP1 with P4/ .9 1GB RAM

Thanks in advance

Bill

Will do that. I actually saw in a corrupt message to use VPU to recover but
it didnt work.

I thought about that but it happened like 5 minutes after turning on the PC
and I do not have the overclocking turned on the card.
I have disabled VPU and so far so good ..keeping fingers xed

Go to "Display Properties"->"Settings"->"Advanced"->"VPU Recovery" tab.

Hmmmm.....I don't show a VPU Recovery Tab?????

Would this be for Win98/ME only? Or XP only?
I'm running Win 2000 Pro.

I am running Win XP and there is a tab for VPU recovery. Not sure about

Personally, IMHO the 3.10 CAT's are total crap,'nuf said. Guys am I the only
one here that thinks this way? I have a Radeon 9700 Pro OEM that OCs like no
one's biz and I tried 'em and then went to my usual overclock settings and
got a boatload of artifacts and I'm thinking, wtf?? Went through all my BIOS
and tweaked settings ad nauseum and ran again and again and well you get the
idea but then I switched back to CAT 3.7s which I find the fastest and most
stable for all my games, Q3, UT3, Falcon4, IL-2 . FTR, 3.8's and 3.9s
weren't too bad but either but overall 3.7s were benchmarking the fastest by
a slim margin ...

I'm running the Omega/ATI 3.10's and they are the best drivers yet.

Yep I'm now running the Omega variant of the 3.10's and they are indeed
stable albeit a bit slower than say the 3.7, 8 & 9 CAT's,
