I was wondering which would be better. I can get the 9600 pro from a
guy in my house for like 130 bucks. Is it worth it to spend the extra
money for the 5700 ultra? Faster, better drivers or anything? Thanks.

Better drivers for nvidia. I have a 9600 Pro (had a GF3) and the last
5 sets of driver releases either breaks something that was working, or
still hasn't been fixed. Too bad ATI makes nice hardware, but they
have such crappy drivers! In the same system, my GF3 NEVER had a
lockup or BSOD, with ATI, Those are daily problems. Mind you, some
lucky SOBs have no issues with ATI.

LOL, cheat. Since when is optimizing cheating? Compilers optimize
all the time, hell, you are running optimized software now! I even
bet you that ATI uses a optimizing compiler for their drivers..
CHEATERS! Then their is Intel cheating with their optimized SSE/SSE2
instructions, AMD cheating with 3dnow! and so on... Cheat.. lol

If the drivers produce the same output, then it is not cheating.

The two cards are extremely comparable. IMO, the higher price on the
5600 Ultra card makes going with the 9600 Pro a no brainer.
