Or even able to be placed over the 9600 heatsink? Is there an aftermarket
fan solution for the 9600? How far can the 9600 be overclocked (in general)
without an aftermarket cooling solution?

True, true. Have you any knowledge as to whether there's an
aftermarket fan solution for the 9600?

The 9600 has the same standard heat sink mounting as the 9500, the
9700, the 9800, the Geforce 4 Ti, the GeforceFX, and a bunch of other
boards. So any aftermarket fan that works on one of those should work on
the 9600.

Mm, i'm sure Thermal Take has a nice one!

Or you can take the Zalman, that one is sweet! And there is even a
version with a fan on it :-)

My Hercules 9500 Pro has seemingly a Thermal Take solution on it (
pure copper... yeah ) and overclocks perfect!
