9600 AIW sound problems

Can anyone give me some advice on my sound issue I'm having. when I record a
television show with MMC , the playback sounds like the volume is being
turned up and down. it doesn't do this when I'm just watching TV on it. only
when I record something. I have tried plugging it into the line out port on
the outside of the computer and plugging it into one of the CD rom Ports on
the inside of the computer. the shows are pretty much unwatchable because of
this problem.

If it's only when you record it sounds like whatever codec you are
using has some kind of automatic gain control on the audio, and it's
not very good. Have you tried it with different compression levels to
see if it only happens on one?

i have looked high and low for a setting to adjust this and cannot find
anything.
