945 Chipset / ICH7

Hi folks,

Hope that all out there had nice X-mas holidays.

I've having some problems with drivers/components for an Intel
mobo with the 945 chipset (no probs exept the chipset drivers)

I've downed the latest "infinst_autol.zip" from intel and when i try
to make a component of the 945's & ICH7's INF's i'm getting the
following error:
<b>An error occurred while getting the vendors list section name.</b>

I don't know if i'm doing some thing wrong...But i belive that some
of u guys & girls here have a solution 4 this.

Or if somedody has a already made component made of the latest
Intel Chipset drivers (7.2.2.1006) and could put it up on www.xpefiles.com
or some thing.

Acke,

Component Designer doesn't live along with some INF structures (it is obviously a bug since XP PnP can parse such files just fine).

Only cure for you would be to edit the file manually and correct it so that CD could parse it too.
Feel free to post the broken INF file here so that we could give it a try as well to help you.

Another way for you to get some progress componentizing the chipset drivers could be in making simple component that will copy
driver files to appropriate windows directories on target (\windows\INF, \windows\system32, \windows\system32\drivers, etc.). Then
during FBA XP (XPe) PnP will do the rest for you and install all PnP devices automatically. It any failures are there, you could
take a look at the setupapi.log file on your target device to see the reasons.

Hi again,

Thanks 4 the answer, ibelive that i found out what was "wrong" with the
inf-files found this tread @ xpefiles
http://www.xpefiles.com/viewtopic.php?t=313 and when i did the changes there
i was able to import the files.

But the sad part is that this didn't solve my blue screens "Stop 0x0000007B"
(before the FBA window comes up) when booting so now i don't know if the
chipset inf-files are the real problem for me or something else (Might be
somthing with the IDE/SATA drivers maby)

But tomorow i belive i'll try the solution in the answer before.

Any Ideas if this might solve the blue screens?

New questions for a new year ;)

Now i have gone thru my components from my "imports" and i can not find
anything missing,
All my boot device drivers (disk drive, PCI bus, IDE controller, IDE
channels, or etc.) seems to
be in place (see attached importlog - the analyze section is removed).

I'm getting two errors for the moment when importing
Warning:Could not find a driver for HID-compliant device
(HID\Vid_1241&Pid_1503&Rev_0280&MI_01&Col01).

Warning:Could not find a driver for Generic volume (STORAGE\Volume).

But i dont belive that these are causing the problem (maby the storage?!?)

Might it have something to do with my chipset drivers?

Before we go into the chipset drivers problems...

What Generic disk drive component you manually resolved when you ran the Dependency Checker tool of TD on your configuration?
For safety, you can add all three existing "Disk drive" component to your configuration.

Also, I don't see an IDE Controller component added to your config. You may want to check what driver(s) you should use in XP Pro
installed on the same target. (or try adding "Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller" component or your chipset IDE controller
driver component)

Which environment did you develop?
I develop on WinXP Pro + SP2, but many devices can't find driver. 98 devices
only find 82 driver. Network device, display device, some mainboard device
can't been found.

Hello,

I am trying to buils eXP image for AHCI ( SATA ) based Platform. I added the
Intel driver to CompDesigner and was having the similar problem of adding new
driver as mentioned in the this email thread. With the help of this link i
was able to solve that problem but still i am not able to get rid of Blue
screen (0x7B) error.
I tried to understand the last part of this email thread but could not
understand. Any further help would be helpful to me

I develop on WinXP Pro + SP2, but many devices can't find driver. 98 devices
only find 82 driver. Network device, display device, some mainboard device
can't been found.
