Hello hope some one can help i have a 9000 pro now and would like to upgrade
to 9700 pro but not sure if it will work my mb is a msi 694d pro2 duel p3
1ghz from what i read it looks like could work but not sure
thanks bill

so what your saying is that if it is x4 it will work my is 2x 4x ? but not
As I recall AGP 1x and 2x are 3 Volt and AGP 4x and 8x are 1.5 Volt. Some
older video cards and motherboards can do both Voltages but newer cards and
MB's can not. The AGP slot should have special keying to prevent damage of
AGP 4x only card in 2x only motherboard. I could be wrong on some of this
info. The practical speed difference between 4x and 8x is unnoticeable.

AGP 8X = 0.8V
4X = 1.5V

Thanks guys

The card should work fine... But be aware that you'd not come close
to maxing out the card's ability with your setup.

A single AMD XP2000 (1.6ghz) CPU would be faster... and thats a $60
CPU nowadays. After the video card upgrade, consider updating the
subsystem as well.

$100 = AMD XP2500+
$120 = ASUS Nforce2 chipset board with IDE RAID / SATA / Firewire
Dual LAN (3Com and Nvidia), 6 USB 2.0 Ports, 2GB RAM max
$ 80 = 512mb RAM
