8GB USB Flash Drive

Just bought an 8GB Kingston USB Flash Drive.
Need bigger storage for a few work files & related stuff.
But am thinking of putting Ubuntu on it & seeing if my laptop will boot via USB.
 
I ran a Mandriva os from a 8 GB usb drive so it should be possible if your laptop will boot from the drive.
