865G with HT and Dual DDR?

From the bits I read on TomsHardware, I know that most MBs with 865PE
can do HT and dual DDR just as well as the expensive 875. But after
being very interested with a new Flex format case, I saw that ASUS has
a Flex format board with the 865G chipset, and it does mention HT and
dual DDR. Can the 865G do as well as the 865PE in terms of
performance, obvsiously given that I would put in a decent AGP GX card
in it?
Then I saw it had a SATA controller but I just bought a ATA133 Maxtor
drive. Are there any adapters to use old drives on SATA controllers?
Has anybody got good/bad experiences with fast systems (2800+) in Flex
cases?

Thanks a lot

The "G" designation means that the chipset supports graphics while the "P" or
"PE" would not. G and P are usually equals as are GE and PE, graphics being the
only difference in the chipsets. Whatever function in any chipset a
manufacturer may or may not choose to support in a particular motherboard model
is another matter. IOW, just because a chipset has an ability doesn't mean that
ability will necessarily be available in all motherboards with that chipset.
