8500LE to 8500

I've searched Google Groups and no one really gives a straight forward
answer to this question. What BIOS do you need to flash a 8500LE to a 8500?

This flash should enable HyperZ and set the clock to 275/275, correct?
 
You seem to be mixed up with the old Radeon 32mb (first one). Hyper Z was
enabled with a registry hack. And the 8500LE often has slower ram that wont
run at 8500 speeds. If you want to run as an 8500 just overclcock it to
that level, carefully.

you should be able to achieve non-LE specs, its only a 10% overclock and
many people have achieved that comfortably
 
I flashed an 8500 OEM (name of LE originally) with 8500 BIOS. The only
difference was the name of the card reported to computer, the overclocking
was same. The best use to change PAL/NTSC. I was looking for the copy I had
but cannot find. I bet you may find at rage3d.com.

OK, you're getting mixed advice, so let me try to sort it out for you.
HyperZ is already enabled, so you don't have to worry about that.

There were a number of different 8500 LE models sold by ATI, Sapphire and
other OEMS. They used a variety of memory types, so overclocking to 275/275
(or beyond) is possible but not guaranteed.

Before you bother flashing the bios, try overclocking with any of the free
utilities you'll find at www.rage3d.com.

Once you've found the highest STABLE speed for your particular card, you can
either dump and edit your existing bios with RadEdit to make the OC
permanent, or you can ask around in the tweaking forum there for someone to
mail you one.
 
Yes should, but a bios flash will force it to the speed where a simple
overclcok gives options. And some LE's run at 230, making 275 quite a
reach, one system I built had such a card and it had anomolies at 265.
