8500LE conect3d dvi->vga prob

Hi,

I have just got a radon 8500le made by conect3d. When I put a DVI->vga
adapter on its dvi port I get no display on the crt attached to the
adapter.

Anyone else got this card?
Is may adapter broken?
Is may card broken?
Just the way the thing was made:(

It does seem to be able to detect the crt on the adapter as it appears
to pick up the monitors capabilities - i think.

Yes, it is the way a 8500LE is made. You got screwed. Almost any other card
including regular 8500 can do dual VGA except 8500LE. It has DVI-D not DVI-I
connector so no VGA. On mine the adapter will not go in. I think they saved
a few $'s by omitting one of the RAMDAC's.

Too bad as dual monitors is a great way to go.

I've had no problem with DVI to VGA or DVI to DVI on my Gigabyte 8500LE.
It's been a great board for me: nowhere near state of the art now, but
thoroughly reliable.
