Previous post regarding logon server not available when
attempting to see files on another networked PC...I found
this event in systems event log:
The master browser has received a server announcement from
the computer USH1M2Z11 that believes that it is the master
browser for the domain on transport NetBT_Tcpip_{02F1459F-
535E-44A2. The master browser is stopping or an election
is being forced.

Any information is appreciated.

hi,

I have seen this error before. I remember a knowledge base article which
address this issue. I am attaching the link below.

http://support.microsoft.com/?id=818092
Description of NetBIOS Browsing Console (Browcon.exe)

Check the Knowledge base article and let me know if the issue is still not
resolved.

Thank you,

Hello,
I read the article, however I'm not sure I'm comfortable
pursuing the changes. Also, I'm getting several 5719
errors when I attempt to log onto the my other PC. It
states: 'No windows NT or 2000 Domain controller is
available for the the domain.... Do I need to set the
Home PC for domain controller? Strange, it worked three
days ago, but not now...

Thanks again,

Dave

Hi Dave,

If you are getting even id 5719 and the error message is "No domain
controller available" This is typically a connectivity problem. To resolve
this follow the links given below for knowledge base articles.

Please let me know if this helps.

I'm still getting this error (5719) and no logon server
available. I'm using a router between the two Windows
2000Pro machines. My laptop can see my home PC in the
Network Neighborhood, but can't 'logon' to it. However,
my home PC can see the laptop and can logon to the
laptop?? Everything was fine a week ago and now?!?!?!?

Thanks for your help!
Dave
