I don't know if this is the right place but here goes. I'm using the world
official golf rankings and trying to get access to the players records and
get the following message:

Provider error 80004005
Unspecified error
/includes/db/dbOpenOWGR.asp, line 31

I'm using AOL8 and Windows XP hone

I would appreciate any help

This looks as though it is an error at the website, not much you can do
except wait it out.
 
As somebody else is using the website with no problems could it still be a
problem with the website

Yes, it's possible there is a problem on the route from your access point.

While the message does indicate an issue with the website, here are a few
things to try. Open Internet Explorer, go to Tools, select Internet
Options, on the General tab, click Delete Cookies, Delete Files (Accept the
option to delete all offline content) and click Clear History, then try the
site again. If you still have the problem, repeat the above and if you have
any security software, firewalls, antivirus, try turning them off and see if
you still have the issue. If no, something in one of those apps is likely
blocking access.

Also, if you have any ad blocking or popup blocking software, try turning
off the software as sometimes those apps can block such access.

All that said, the error is definitely at the site and is indicative of a
problem they are having.
 
Thanks very much, I shall give it a few days to see if website gets sorted,
if not I will try your solutions.
