I downloaded 7.2 Cat,followed all instructions how to remove old driver,now
in window explorer I have 2 ATI files ATI--ATI2,I'm not sure which one is
the right one,so I deleted ATI 2,which is still in the recycle bin and
everything seems ok,but it seems ok before I deleted ATI 2.The ATI 2 did not
show up in the add & remove,only in windows explorer.Also I cant seem to
make a shortcut on my desktop,when I try I get all different components of
ATI file.
 
If you are talking about %%sysdrv%%\ATI or ATI2 (i.e. c:\ATI and or c:\ATI2)
they can both be deleted without issue. Those are temporary directories
created by the ATI Cat installer process and are no longer needed once
you've done a successful install. Me, being the neat-freak I am, the FIRST
thing I do after a Cat install is delete c:\ATI. You probably left it there
from a previous Cat install and so when the 7.2 installer encountered the
existence of an ATI directory this time it decided to use ATI2 (because it
can't assume that you don't need/want/care about c:\ATI).
