I have cut all my 6X9 film into individual frames. Does the Nikon 9000
scanner have a medium format holder that has individual frames for 6X9
or are the short ends of my cut single frame 6X9 film going to be
unsupported in the supplied 'glassless' carrier?

Thanks,

Steve:
The LS-9000 uses the same holders as the LS-8000, including the FH-869GR,
with which I've scanned single frame 6x9s.

Do these holders have a full or a partial support frame around the 6X9
frame aperture - thanks again

It should work fine. I've done it with success. You could also purchase
the 120 glass holder for the 9000. This is the FH869G holder. It is
pricey, but will guarantee a flat image to scan. I bought one primarily
because I have a lot of old (really old) B&W negs to scan. Many have a
strong curl to them.

Steve:
Starting from the bottom, the GR is a sandwich of glass, mask cutout, 6x9
image, glass. So the film frame actually makes contact with the mask at the
edges and the glass above. There are other masks for 6x6, 35mm, etc. I
suppose the other glass carrier works fine too, but I haven't tried it.
Another possibility: Aztek.com offers a third party fluid carrier.
