Hello,

On my C: drive I have a folder called 6in1ico. I have no idea what it is!.

It has within it 2 files called Media-in1.ico and No_Media1.ico.

If I try to delete the folder I get dire warnings saying that my programs
will stop working .

Does anyone know what these files are?

Thanks

KK

*.ico is the standard extension for icon files.

NOTE: Programmers can use any extension they want within their programs. So
the standard does not always apply.

However, in this case, it looks like these are icon files for a drive that
handles removable media - one icon for when there is removable media
present; another for when the media has been removed. Perhaps a camera? A
card reader? Or USB drive? Several other possiblities -just tossing out a
few ideas of what these could be use with.

Paint is capable of reading *.ICO files. You could start Paint (in the
start menu under Accessories) and should then be able to use File> Open to
view these files.

I have a Hewlett Packard PC with a 6 in 1 Memory Card Reader in it.

So, based on the name "6in1ico" and the creation date of the folder, 04-10-2003, the year I bought the PC, I'm guessing that this folder of icons was installed with the card reader.

The odd thing is that I use the card reader all the time and haven't noticed those icons being used. Maybe they are connected to some media software that came with the reader that I don't use? I don't know.
