Do you guys reckon it's worth buying a 6800le to replace a 9600pro? Ill unlock to 12 pipes and overclock it a little to make it similar to a 6800gs.

Im building the other computer in a few days. long time coming.

but ill still use this one a lot, and i do a lot of games.

is it worth the £57?

oh and im only on agp 4x. but i dont suppose that matters too much.

! oh and one more thing i only have a 250w crappy hp psu. will that be enough to power a 6800gs - power card?

250 Watt will not be enough, on a 6800GT (virtually the same as the 6800GS) box it says minimum power supply 400 Watt.

A 6800LE isnt that bad for £57

You may be lucky, the PC may even boot-up. ;)

AGP 8x is backward compatible with AGP 4x ... again, it 'should' work. :)

Are they still even making cards like that at 4xAGP surely they are all 8x

They maybe backward compatable but whats the point?
If ya gonna put a x8 in a 4x port why bother upgrading, seems to be defeating the object ..IMO

Actually TD ... I'm wondering whether it will actually run properly at all ... older MB AGPs ran @ 1.5v and early AGP 8x cards could handle this without being burnt out BUT damned if some of them ran properly.

You pays your money ... you takes your choice. ;)

bah

thats annoying but cheers anyway guys

im not going to bother upgrading my psu as well, too much hassle when im getting another computer.

great value card though, seems a shame not to get it, but as it is my crappy msi hp board worries me, let alone giving it a bigger load :P

ah well.
