I'm looking for a videocard that is able to display on a 640x240 resolution
(pci or pcmcia)
Any suggestions?

Regards

As far as I know, almost any videocard should be able to display that
resolution as long as you specify it as a custom resolution.

(you'll lose the 4:3 image ration, of course)

640x480 is a normal resolution, But I can't set it to 640x240, I tried on 3
computers.
How can you set a custom resolution?

Have you tried powerstrip?

What video card do you have?

Might be worth trying the pre-3 version if it's not a current generation
card.

Run Powerstrip

Right click on the tray icon and select Display Profiles>Configure
Click on Advanced Timing Options
And then Custom Resolutions
Now select the User Defined radio button
In the boxes on the top right, key in 640 and 240
Now click on Add new resolution
Follow the instructions and reboot when prompted

And there you have 640x240. I can't guarantee it will work, but I think it
will be OK.

You have to goto custom configuration of the screen and have to change
it manualy to that resolution. Start at 640X480 and work your way down...

I did all of this, and rebooted, but I couldn't find a way afterwards to set
my resolution to this size

You should see it as one of the resolutions you can chose, but I assume
that's not the case.

So go into powerstrip again and see if 640x240 is there under the Custom
Resolutions section. (Instructions as per below).

I should add, you should be able to select your new resolution on the
Resolution slider on the Powerstrip "Display Profiles>Configure" page.
