I bought a new computer about a month ago. Had the vendor install Vista
64bit. Unfortunately many of my programs do not work with the 64 bit version.
Is there anyway to hagne the operating system to 32 bit? Do I have to buy a
new copy of windows?

Hi,

See if the vendor will exchange the media. The only way to change between 64
and 32 bit is to clean install with the appropriate media disk. There is no
upgrade/downgrade option. With Vista, your product key should activate
either version, so if you can locate a 32 bit disk (copy a friend's, etc.)
then that is all you need. There is no reason to purchase another license.

Contact Dell for the proper software, as generic and retail versions may not
contain the needed proprietary drivers for your system. Your license and
Product Key can be used to install an OEM 64-bit, but with production line
systems it is safest to get media directly from the manufacturer to ensure
it will function properly.
