I just upgraded my processor from an AMD Sempron to an AMD Athlon 64. Why
can't I get windows to recognize that it can run 64 bit programs now?

****You need to install the 64bit version of XP****
Might as well install it on a 2nd partition and dual boot until you have all
aspects of the 64bit OS up and running.
