60sec SMTP

When I'm sending emails I always get a '60sec wait'

This is what it says and I need help maybe

SMTP not responding in 60seconds

Account mail.optusnet.com.au
Server mail.optusnet.com.au

I can receive ok, but always have this popping up in sending.

Any suggestions???? as to why! I have checked the settings etc.

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. It provides no
protection not provided by the regular resident protection. Beside that,
McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail and need to be
uninstalled.
