We have also read about global warming and the recent disasters striking different parts of the world causing havoc in terms of lost lives and destruction of property. Not sure what to make of it all.

Some say the planet is getting hotter but others maintain that average global temperatures have NOT risen at all over the last ten years. Yes, we've had some hot spells but also some very cold ones too.

The Arctic icecap is relatively small this winter but there is never any mention of the fact that the Antarctic icecap is bigger and thicker than ever.

I feel that it is imposible to make any judgements on matters like these without looking at things over hundreds (or thousands) of years not just a few decades. This Earth has been here for over four billion years.
