I am having trouble with my samsung scd 27 mini dv
camcorder. I have a HP pavillion 523n computer running
windows XP Home Edition. I am connecting the camcorder via
IEEE 1394 firewire port (creative audio 2 zu card)and
plugged into my camcorder using a 6 to 4 pin firewire
cable. When I plug the camcorder in the wmm2 program
recognises it and asks to launch the wmm2 program. I can
use the controls on the wmm2 to rewind and fast forward,
but when I hit the play button the camcorder plays the
movie but I dont get a preview and it doesnt record the
movie. I have recorded a movie once via this connection but
its about 1 in 20 times it will work correctly.
I have seen on some other sites that because I have a 4 pin
connection I may not be able to download the video from my
camcorder correctly. Is that true? Please help....
Thanks......Marty

The 4 pin connection is normal and will transfer the video. The extra 2 pins
are to power a device that doesn't have its own power. A camcorder has power
and doesn't need to get it from the computer.
