6.0 Lags When I browser opens new window?

I have a tablet on Tablet XP and seem to have a problem
with Internet Explorer 6.0 . In particular, when I access
a page or click a link that opens a new browser window
(such as pop up ads), the window freezes up and "lags"
for a while until the page unfreezes and allows me to use
both the opened windows. This consistently happens.

I using Medium-High Security setting. An Intel 3-M
Toshiba 3505 tablet PC.

I think the problem is in Internet Explorer but am not
sure. Anyone else have this problem?
Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Thanks for the webpage but I tried everything on it and
the problem continues to exist. The "hang", "lag" or
temporary "freeze" only happens when a new window is
opened: such as when I pushed the "reply" button to this
message, or having the CNN edition pop-up come up
automatically at www.cnn.com . Still trying to figure out
if it is recent enough that it will be adressed by an
upcoming patch.

Thanks for any and all help so far and in the future!

The issue was resolved thanks to a person who posted
the "remedy" on this board! The problem appears to be
with Toshiba computers. Here is the remedy that I am very
thankful for: (Credit to (e-mail address removed) !!!)

I've spent at least 12 hours trying to figure out this
issue which
I've seen in many google posts which NOBODY has
resloved.... well I
have good news for all of you, I resolved the problem!
(for me at
least)

THE ISSUE WAS:
Popup windows which are on any websites generated by
javascript code
"window.open" (which is almost ALL popups) freeze up the
Internet
Explorer window for about 30-60 seconds and then finally
popup ok.

MY COMPUTER:
I have a toshiba satellite laptop, which I upgraded from
XP Home, to
XP Pro. I called Microsoft Support and spent 3 hours on
the phone to
resolve this. Was a pretty simple fix and was actually
NOT IE6, it was
Toshiba's software...

THE SOLUTION:

Go to START > RUN
type msconfig
hit ENTER

Now click the STARTUP tab and uncheck the startup item
called
"tsyssmon" which is the Toshiba System Stability Monitor,
to disable
it.

When this program is running on your computer it causes
this problem
of slow popup windows in IE. Don't ask my why, but it
solved my
problem.

Good luck to all!
