5V fan running on 12v - how long will it last?

Just wondering...
How long should I expect a 5V fan to last if it is running on 12v?
(getting great CFM out of them!)

You might want to put a fan on it to keep it cool ;-)

Wont this draw excess current from the PSU, possibly dropping the 12V
rail down a bit.

I would be more worried about the PSU than the Fan!

Bet the fan bearings are a bot warmer than usual.

Just a thought

Instead of worrying, I'd buy a 12v fan:-)

Is that the fan within a fan within...phenomenon? More current will
help.
Hook up a car battery to the fans but be sure and heat-sink them properly.
