5744 doesn't activate. What gives?

I just upgraded from 5600 to 5744. It says it's 2 days until automatic
activation. I have tried to Activate it now, but nothing happends when I
click "Activate Windows Now". It worked in the previous 5600 and 5456
version. Anyone else experienced this?

By "nothing happens", do you mean- _nothing_ happens, or, do
you get an error message?

I've got a similar problem. Clicking on 'activate now' takes me to enter a
key, but I don't have a key. All previous vista versions then took me to the
phone activation system with a number which i entered and got a key. This
time that doesn't happen, in other words I can't get to the phone activation.
previously I activated 5728, 5600 and 55something with no problem. In fact
you can see several previous help msgs here from me on this very subject.

Why don't you have a key? If you got a key once,
you can use that same key. I'm not understanding
what you are trying to say.

Always before I was given a key by the Microsoft avtivation phone system
after ticking the box that said "I do not have a key" or something like that.
When the phone system gave me a key I enetered it striaght away on my screen.
I did not write it down. I've used that system 5 times with each new version
of Vista. Previously the compute came up with a number o enter into the phone
activation system, this time it is not doing that. Colin
 
Yes, I mean NOTHING happends. There is no response or activity from clicking
activate.

Same issue here, when trying to click on the activate windows now feature in
the welcome center, it does not respond with anything whatsoever. No
response, no window, no error messages. However, what did happen, like it
did for me with 5728 is that it did activate 'automatically' after the third
day and it validates like usual. All I can suggest is to wait it out for
the third day.

Ok, you people without keys....this is a testing phase, Microsoft gives out
keys left and right.

Go there, select to download (you don't have to if you have a disc already)
and then sign-up or log-in with a current passport id and they will send you
a key!!! RC1 works with RC2

!!!Expires in June of 2007!!!
(by then a newer version will be out)
 
Yes, you can get two different keys per email address.
So, if someone has lost one, they can get another.

Signed up twice and received two keys. Neither will work-says the numbers are
already in use. Now what? Can't keep doing this. Do they really want us to
test it?
