5709 ?

Tonight at about 9:30 CDT I tried to check for an update
to Microsoft Spyware. I do this everyday at least twice.
It said it was upgrading from 5707 to 5709 but it got
stuck and stopped responding. I ended it in taskmanager
and rebooted my PC. Now the program says there are no
updates and that I have version 5707. When I checked on
the Spyware website I saw something that said the current
version is 5707. What the heck was that thing about 5709?
 
We'll probably never know. I've seen it throw out oddball version
numbers--sometimes perhaps 64 higher than the current one. I haven't seen
what you are reporting, but the function which reports that is definitely
buggy.
