I bought vista home premium upgrade and i can't get any of my pci modems to
work.
I have a modem with a conexant rs56-pci chip on it and a pc tel hsp 56 micro
modem both don't work. I don't have the option of high speed in my area so i
need a modem that works with vista. Does anyone know if there is a driver for
either of my modems or know of a modem that will work with vista?

Thanks

Have you checked with the manufacturers?

Here, the Intel 536EP works...using the 4.77.8.3 driver downloaded by
Vista from the Net.

Yes i tried the manufacturers both don't have vista drivers, i tried the xp
driver for the conexant modem and got a blue screen then computer crashed. I
kind of expected a set of generic drivers in vista like xp but i guess most
modem users are screwed if we don't upgrade our modems.

I fitted my old Zoom PCI Modem (HCF) into my newly built PC. I went
to a friend's home where Broadband is available to setup my PC with
Vista so that I could authenticate online. It found my modem and went
away to Windows Update and installed the correct driver without any
prompting. Clearly you have to first connect to the internet before
being able to do this so you are in a Catch 22 situation but Vista
drivers do exist.
